Jules – 32 years old Works as Corporate Security – was sporty as a younger person, but found himself getting comfortable in a long-term relationship, and the “love guts” kicked in and the kilograms kept stacking on. Found himself hitting the 100kg mark and decided that he didn’t want to see those triple figures on the scale again. So, he sought help from Shaun, and has lost 20kg since starting the 12-week program. 6 weeks in, Jules is very pleased with the results thus far. He has noticed a big increase in muscle mass, decrease in body fat percentage, and most importantly he has a huge improvement in his confidence and energy levels. Feeling as fit as he was playing footy in the younger days. Jules has credited the success in his journey to Shaun’s understanding of his biomechanics to optimize his training, as well as a food diary and meal plan to keep him accountable.
In the structural assessment, Shaun was able to identify the weaknesses in Jules’s body and came up with a plan to accelerate his rehab on pre-existing issues as well as prevent further injury. Shaun’s approach is not only about the training and nutrition, but it is a holistic scope of what’s going on in your life, especially with work and relationships. Seeing it quantified on paper gave me a lot of insight, and helped him realize that everything truly is connected – and you do have to get it right.

Jasmine – 19-year-old high jump athlete – Competitive athlete competing in national level high jump and plays football as well. Looking back after now completing the 12-weeks with Shaun, Jasmine wasn’t aware that she was held down by her weak points, ironically where she thought she was strong. Now she feels way more confident in herself and her ability as an athlete. At the front end of the 12 weeks, we did some benchmark strength testing to see where Jasmine was at. Her squat was 40kg, compared to 80kg in the re-test in the last week. We smashed that goal, as well as her deadlift goal, which started at 50kg, and at the end of the 12 weeks, we hit 80kg, which was awesome.
When Jasmine’s friends and family used to ask her about her sports and what she was doing, she was always a little shy, and never really wanted to talk about it. She lacked that confidence, and wondered if she was good enough. But training with Shaun, has made Jasmine stronger, and it’s helped her realize that she is actually a good athlete. In Jasmine’s footy training and athletic training, her performance is much better, it’s more effective and working more efficiently. And she has the confidence in not injuring herself – because she knows how to do the exercises correctly. “The nutrition and lifestyle assessments that we went through with Shaun was very helpful. It helped me realize that eating more food was not just going to make me gain weight, but actually eating more helped me lose weight, and so I ate more, which helped me in performing as an athlete.”

I’ve been working with Shaun and the team at Desiderate Culture for the last 6 months and have seen the results. Shaun is an excellent coach. Goes above and beyond with programming and in my experience achieved amazing results. My time with Shaun as my coach has allowed me to continue with my S&C training with proper technique and form, the knowledge of certain lifts and how to program to achieve my goals. I signed up with Shaun on a 12-Week Program starting Dec 2020. During that time, Shaun and I talked about my goals, which was mainly body recomposition and general exercise awareness. Shaun has helped me surpass these goals through his rigorous program. He demonstrates exercises very clearly and teaches you to be aware of the muscles you should be targeting for each exercise. Sessions are always fun and challenging with different exercises every week. You will definitely get a work out! And aside from the exercise, Shaun offers a good nutrition plan which caters to your diet; I was on a split veggie and meat days as I didn’t want to eat a lot of meat. He also offers tons of advice outside the gym and genuinely cares about his clients. I’ve definitely seen great results on my body, attitude and mindset since teaming up with Shaun. Highly recommend!
